Radyo 1 is a national state radio.
According to Article 434 of Turkish Commercial Code, shareholders in corporations ('Anonim Şirket’) use their voting rights in proportion with their shares’ nominal value. Each shareholder has at least one vote, however voting rights might be limited, or given more weight with articles of association. Moreover, public companies may issue shares without voting rights according to Article 14/A of Capital Markets Law.

Born in 1962 in Denizli, Göka studied journalism at Marmara University. In 1985, he started working for TRT. Between 2012 and 2014 he worked an advisor in the Prime Ministry. He became the Assistant to the General Manager of TRT and a member of the Board of Directors in June 2014. In October 2014 he became the General Director of TRT.
In July 201, during the administration of Şenol Göka, RTÜK prepared 19 reports about the pro-government broadcast of TRT and the Supreme Election Council warned the channel 5 times and sentenced it to 2 broadcast bans. Haber-Sen journalists' union called the TRT to remove Şenol Göka from office.
