Aydın Doğan is the founder and honorary chairperson of Doğan Holding. He founded his first industrial company in 1974. He became a publisher with the acquisition of Milliyet in 1979 and later on Hürriyet in 1994. He established Aydın Doğan Foundation in 1996. He was hit by a record $2.5bn tax fine, sending its shares down 20 percent after a year-long confrontation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Doğan Group has withdrawn completely from the media sector, with the sale of its media assets to Demirören group with 916 billion dollars.

Kınık was born in 1977 in Bingöl. He is a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences. In 1999, he became an assistant specialist at the capital markets board (CMB). Kınık became the CEO of Demirören Holding in 2019.
