Yıldırım Demirören, the son of Erdoğan Demirören, was born in 1964 in Istanbul. He was the president of Beşiktaş sports club from 2004 to 2012, and since 2012, he has been the president of the Turkish Football Federation. He is one of the shareholders, and the Head of the Board of Directors, of the conglomerate 'Demirören Holding A.Ş.' which holds the majority shares of the companies that publish Milliyet, Hürriyet, Posta and Fanatik newspapers and online gazetevatan.com. He is also on the board of directors of many companies owned by the Demirören Family. He attended President Erdoğan's daughter's wedding in May 2016. Yıldırım Demirören was elected as the chair of the board of Demirören Holding after his father Erdoğan Demirören passed away in June 2018. Yelda Demirören, the daughter of Yıldırım Demirören, and Haluk Kalyoncu (the son of Hasan Kalyoncu, the founder of the Kalyon Group) got married on April 13, 2019. President Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan were the marriage witnesses. The marriage was reported as the company marriage of Turkuvaz and Demirören Groups.
