Ahmet Şişman was businessman. He was born in Bolu in 1951. He was among the founders of Ensar Vakfı and its president for 21 years until he passed away in 2011. In 1995 he bought the publishing rights of Yeni Şafak newspaper (which has been published for a short period in 1994 by other investors) and is considered the founder of the paper. Şişman’s funeral was attended by then President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan.

Born in 1964, Mustafa Albayrak is a shareholder - along with his five brothers - and the Head of the Board of Directors of "Albayrak Yayın Holding A.Ş.," which owns Yeni Şafak newspaper, seven magazines and two TV channels. He heads the boards of directors of four other media companies within the group, which is known to have close ties to the ruling AK Parti and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Mustafa Albayrak was imprisoned for 6 months in 2001-2002 for claims of corruption in public tenders, related to construction and transportation, taken from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Born in Trabzon in 1969, İbrahim Karagül is the Editor in Chief of Yeni Şafak and TV Net. He is a graduate of Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Law. He started working at Yeni Şafak in 1995 as the head of international news. He was named the chief of TV Net in March 2011, and the Editor in Chief of Yeni Şafak in July 2012. He’s been writing a column for Yeni Şafak for 20 years.
