Aydın Doğan is the founder and honorary chairman of Doğan Holding. He founded his first industrial company in 1974. He became a publisher with the acquisition of Milliyet in 1979 and later on Hürriyet in 1994. He established Aydın Doğan Foundation in 1996. He hit with a record $2.5bn tax fine, sending its shares down 20 per cent after a year-long confrontation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Doğan Group has withdrawn completely from the media sector, with the sale of its media assets to Demirören group with 916 billion dollars.

Yıldırım Demirören, the son of Erdoğan Demirören, was born in 1964 in Istanbul. He was the president of Beşiktaş sports club from 2004 to 2012, and since 2012 he's the president of the Turkish Football Federation. He's one of the shareholders, and the Head of the Board of Directors, of the conglomerate 'Demirören Holding A.Ş.' which holds the majority shares of the companies that publish Milliyet, Hürriyet, Posta and Fanatik newspapers and online gazetevatan.com. He's also in the board of directors of many companies owned by the Demirören Family. He attended President Erdoğan's daughter's wedding on May 2016. Yıldırım Demirören was elected as the board of chairman of Demirören Holding after his father Erdoğan Demirören passed away on June, 2018.
Yelda Demirören (the daughter of Yıldırım Demirören, the Chair of the Board of Directors of Demirören Holding) and Haluk Kalyoncu (the son of Hasan Kalyoncu, the founder of the Kalyon Group) got married on April 13, 2019. President Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan were the marriage witnesses. The marriage was reported as the company marriage of Turkuvaz and Demirören Groups.
